June 2026
A guided early-morning walk focused on bird identification during peak nesting season. Led by members of the local ornithology group. Suitable for all experience levels. Binoculars helpful.
Monthly guided hike along the Wiesenbeck route with ecological commentary. Organised by Harzklub local section. Approximately 8 km, moderate pace.
July 2026
Traditional woodcraft demonstrations, workshops for adults and children, and a small market of locally made wooden goods. Held in the market square. Parking limited — use the Bürgerhaus car park.
A walking tour of Wildemann's historic core with a focus on the mining-era buildings. Led by local historian Tobias Grunewald. Meeting point at the church gate.
August 2026
A landscape photography workshop at the Brocken summit area, timed around sunrise. Participants should have some familiarity with manual camera settings. Max 8 participants. Contact via the services page.
The annual regional hiking day, with simultaneous guided walks departing from seven Harz villages. Wildemann, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Sankt Andreasberg, Altenau, Hahnenklee, Goslar and Quedlinburg all take part.
October 2026
A guided walk through peak autumn foliage in the Gose valley. Commentary on forest ecology and the visual qualities of mixed beech/spruce forest in transition.
Regional produce market in the medieval market square. Local honey, herbs, mushrooms, woodcraft and regional cheeses. A good reason to combine a Harz visit with a day in Goslar's old town.
