What data we collect and why
This is a static editorial website. We do not operate user accounts, payment systems or data collection platforms. The data we may process is limited to the following:
- Server logs: Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL and the pages you access. These logs are used for security and technical maintenance only. They are not used for advertising or profiling. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
- Contact enquiries: If you write to us via the contact page or by email, we retain your email address and the content of your message for as long as is necessary to respond and for a reasonable period thereafter. We do not add contact enquiries to any mailing list without explicit consent.
- Newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe. We do not share subscriber lists with third parties.
- Cookies: We use one functional cookie (harzklub_cookie) to remember your cookie consent preference. This cookie does not contain personal data beyond your preference. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
Legal basis for processing
Where we process personal data, we do so on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for server log processing for security and maintenance
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for newsletter subscriptions and cookie preferences
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) — where you have engaged us for a service
